In the garden of gratitude, every bloom tells a story, whispering love through the seasons.
About the book: In essence my children’s book The Grateful Green Dinosaur teaches children the importance of gratitude through two characters, a green dinosaur named Percy and his friend Custard the unicorn. These two emulate how to practice gratitude and turn negative thoughts into positive ones, shifting Percy’s “bad” day into a “good” one. Essentially teaching children that they can be happier if they try and focus on the positives and things they are grateful for in their day, they don’t need to let outward circumstances affect their happiness. In realising this, they will then re-wire their brain to look for the positive things in their day, instead of their brain automatically focusing on and pointing out the negative things. This book also hints at the law of attraction, that changing their mindset to a more positive one, they will then attract more positive circumstances to them. This practice will set children up for a happier, more prosperous and abundant life.

Hi Everyone! I’m Larissa, the author of The Grateful Green Dinosaur, and I’m so excited to share my stories with you. I’m Australian-born and raised in New South Wales, where I live with my husband and our three young sons—yes, you read that right, three little boys under three and a half!
I’m also a Registered Nurse, and it was through my own struggles with perinatal and post-partum anxiety during my second pregnancy that I discovered the power of gratitude. As someone who understands the side effects of anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications, I decided to explore natural alternatives for managing my mental health. It was during this time that I stumbled upon Rhonda Byrne’s work on gratitude, and incorporating these practices into my life made a profound difference in my well-being.
Now, as a mother, I want to pass on this valuable lesson to my children—and to yours. The Grateful Green Dinosaur was born out of my desire to share the transformative power of gratitude with kids in a fun and relatable way. My hope is that through the story, children and parents alike can find joy in the little things and create a positive mindset that lasts a lifetime.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me—I truly hope my book and the associated merchandise I have designed, brings a little extra happiness and gratitude into your home!
